  RFID denotes Radio Frequency IDentification

It employs Radio Frequency Communications to exchange data between a portable memory device (tag) and a host computer or PLC (as on a conveyor system).

An RFID system typically consists of a portable memory device (e.g. RFID Tag/ RFID Label/ RFID PCB) containing data storage, an Antenna to communicate with the Tag and an Interrogator to manage communication between the Antenna and the PC (or PLC).
